Treating confirmed, active infestation
Because so many exit holes found in a property are historic rather than active, our first step is always confirming genuine current infestation before recommending treatment: there's little point treating timber that isn't actually at risk. Where activity is confirmed, treatment is specified to the timber and species involved.
Common signs to look out for
Fresh frass (wood dust) found near exit holes
Adult beetle sightings in spring or early summer
Newly discovered holes since a previous inspection
Damp or poorly ventilated timber alongside signs of infestation
