Damp Problems
Mould
Mould is the visible result of persistent surface moisture: not a problem in its own right. Treating mould without addressing what's feeding it is why it keeps coming back.

What mould needs to grow
Mould spores are present in virtually all indoor air. They only become a visible problem when they find a surface that's damp enough, for long enough, to establish colonies, which is why mould reliably points back to a moisture source, whether that's condensation, penetrating damp, rising damp, or poor ventilation around a specific area.
Common signs to look out for
Black, green or grey spotting on walls, ceilings or around windows
A persistent musty or earthy smell
Mould concentrated in corners, behind furniture or in bathrooms
Mould that reappears within weeks of cleaning
Visible mould combined with condensation or a damp patch nearby
Mould on fabric, carpet or stored items in an unventilated space
If mould is a health concern in your household, treat that as a priority alongside (not instead of) identifying and resolving the moisture source.

How We Help
DAMPCORE's approach to mould
Our starting point is always the same: work out what's keeping that surface damp, then remediate the mould itself.
- Identifying the moisture source: condensation, a leak, penetrating or rising damp
- Safe removal and treatment of existing mould growth
- Addressing the underlying cause so the conditions mould needs don't return
- Guidance on ventilation, heating and day-to-day habits that reduce recurrence risk
What our customers say
“We're landlords and needed somebody to look at recurring mould after the usual cleaning and repainting hadn't solved anything. The explanation we got was refreshingly practical and gave us something concrete to work from. Would definitely use them on our other properties.”
Sophie · Oakwood, Leeds
“I'd been worrying about a damp mark in the living room for months and had convinced myself it was going to be something horrendous. The surveyor was calm, methodical and explained the likely cause very clearly. A much less stressful experience than I'd expected.”
Helen · Acomb, York
