Why basements and cellars need a different approach
A below-ground space is in constant contact with surrounding ground moisture and, depending on the water table and drainage, can face genuine hydrostatic pressure: water actively pushing against the structure. That's a different problem to condensation forming in a poorly ventilated cellar, and the two need entirely different solutions, from tanking and structural waterproofing to simple ventilation improvement.
