Timber Preservation
Treating and protecting timber that's already showing signs of decay or infestation, or that's at meaningful risk because of its exposure to moisture.

Preservation follows identification
Timber preservation work is specified according to what's actually affecting the timber: a preservative treatment for wood-boring insects is different to the repair and moisture control needed for wet rot, which is different again to the more extensive work dry rot can require. Our preservation work always follows on from a survey identifying the specific issue.
Common signs to look out for
Confirmed active woodworm infestation
Timber showing early signs of wet rot
Structural timber exposed to a resolved but historic damp issue
New or replacement timber requiring preventative treatment
Timber flagged during a purchase survey as needing attention
Roof timbers in a loft with ventilation or historic leak issues

How We Help
Our timber preservation process
Treatment is matched to the specific decay or infestation type, with moisture control addressed as part of the same job where relevant.
- Confirming the type and extent of decay or infestation before treatment
- Removal of any severely decayed timber that can't be preserved
- Application of appropriate preservative or remedial treatment
- Addressing the moisture source, where one is present, so treated timber stays protected
What our customers say
“We used DAMPCORE for a problem in the cellar. It wasn't a small job but everything was explained beforehand and there were no surprises halfway through. The team grafted and kept the place remarkably tidy considering the work involved.”
Mark · Moortown, Leeds
“Very methodical. Outside of the house was checked as thoroughly as inside, which sounds obvious but the previous person we'd had round hadn't done that. They found defective pointing and an issue around the rainwater pipe that lined up almost exactly with the damp internally.”
Ian · Knaresborough
